One of the standout singles from his and The Alchemist’s project Alfredo, “Babies & Fools” by Freddie Gibbs receives a visual treatment. The track also features veteran Griselda MC, Conway The Machine, resulting in a bomb collab.
Shot in a Miami strip club, the lo-fi near night-vision display was directed by James “JMP” Pereira and stars the two rappers who go about all of the sacrifices they both made in order to celebrate in the present, talking about fatherhood which is a recurring theme throughout Alfredo.
“Being a father changed the way I rap because I used to rap like I ain’t have nothing to lose. Now I have everything in the world to lose because I have beautiful children and a good family structure,” he said. “My daughter’s special. My son is special, man.” He continued, “This is the legacy that I’m leaving, f*ck all of this rap shit, like that’s great and all, but I want my kids to be like, ‘My dad was a stand up guy. He stood up for us.’”
